Phoenix Trading is passionately committed to giving back to the communities in which it operates. The Company has a long history of charitable giving, having donated more than $1,500,000 to charities to date. When Phoenix Trading launched in Australia, it nominated national cancer charity, CanTeen as its beneficiary and has donated more than AU$40,000 to the organisation since 2006 through the sale of charitable Christmas cards.

In 2009, in response to the bushfires raged in Victoria, the Phoenix International Charity campaigned for the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal. With the help and dedication of Phoenix Traders, artists, staff and supporters, we raised over $44,000 from the sale of a limited edition Blue Butterfly card, direct donations and Traders' individual fundraising efforts.

About Butterfly Tea Parties

In September 2009, Phoenix Traders in the UK organised Butterfly Tea Parties to raise money for Children's Hospice UK. Together, the company and its Traders succeeded in raising an incredible GBP136,000 - 5 times over the initial target! In the process of raising all this money a lot of fun was has and we are excited to now launch this concept in Australia. We have joined forces with the McGrath Foundation and Julie Goodwin to raise awareness about breast cancer and make sure that our Australian Butterfly Tea Parties make a real and valuable difference.

About McGrath Foundation

The McGrath Foundation was co-founded by Jane and Glenn McGrath after Jane’s recovery from breast cancer.

While being treated for a secondary cancer in 2003, Jane had access to a breast care nurse and became aware of the tremendous impact these nurses can have on a patient’s physical and mental wellbeing both during and after treatment. Jane’s breast care nurse allowed her to be Jane McGrath – the friend, the mother and the wife. She also gave Jane informed and knowledgeable answers to the many questions she had.

Jane felt strongly that every woman diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia, as well as their families, should have access to a specialist breast care nurse, so one of the McGrath Foundation’s two main objectives is to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia. There are currently 55 McGrath Breast Care Nurses in locations as far reaching as Hervey Bay (QLD) and Geraldton (WA).

The McGrath Foundation’s second objective is to educate young women to be breast aware. Jane was only 31 when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer, and she felt passionately about empowering young women to take control of their health by conducting regular breast checks – early detection saves lives.

Welcome to the fundraising page for Phoenix Trading's Butterfly Tea Parties being held around the country in support of the McGrath Foundation. This is where Phoenix Traders, together with their hosts, customers and supporters, can come together to raise money to support women diagnosed with breast cancer and their families.

For the month of August, Phoenix Trading and their customers will be holding Butterfly Tea Parties in support of the McGrath Foundation. In addition, Phoenix Trading has published a fabulous special charity edition Butterfly Cupcakes card, with $1 per card being donated, as well as a 10c donation for every card sold from a range of 20 best selling cards sold between 22 July and 31 August. The Company has guaranteed a minimum donation of $10,000 to the McGrath Foundation from the sale of the Butterfly Cupcakes card.

In the 4 days following the release of the Butterfly Cupcakes card, Phoenix Traders purchased 38,381 copies thereby securing an initial donation of $43,211 from the Phoenix International Charity to the McGrath Foundation. We have approximately 300 Traders registered to fundraise through a myriad of wonderful, creative and fun ways. This is community fundraising at its absolute best!
